@Toth_4_Texas @abc13houston Because someone can have a degree or even a masters in an area, like business or economics and be fully qualified, but not be certified with TEA. They teach while going through the certification process. According to the number listed that is less than 3% of teachers.

.@ABC13Houston - Why has CISD hired so many uncertified teachers while Katy ISD hired none? Because Katy’s Board placed a high priority on the classroom. Certified and Uncertified Teachers are leaving in record numbers. Why? According to the TX Classroom Teachers Association, Top 3 Reasons: 1) Poor Quality of Life 2) Violence in the classroom and lack of support for Teachers from administration 3) Pay What do we need to do? Attracting and Retaining Teachers means all of us need to stand against Federal and State Reporting Mandates that tie up our teachers. Violent children who bully student and assault teachers must be removed from the classroom. Teachers who send the district referrals (of violent kids) need their support instead of blame. Across the U.S. and yes, Texas too administrators are being hired at a rate of between 5 and 10 to 1. It’s impossible to fairly compensate teachers when ISD’s are exploding the number of administrators. Further, Superintendents are being paid 3 to 5 times what Governor Abbott is being paid. We need to restore sanity in Texas Public Schools.

Early voting has begun! If Prop A and any combination of Props B, C, & D are approved by voters, it is projected there will be a 2-cent impact for the 24-25 school year. Homeowners 65+ who have filed their exemption will not see an increase in their tax amount if all props pass.

Student Loan Forgiveness and PPP Loan Forgiveness is NOT an Apples to Apples comparison. So just stop trying to make it one.

I also took out Student Loans to get a personal degree to further myself. When I took out a PPP Loan for my business, I knew it was likely to be forgiven, IF I spent it on certain things. I also took out a PPP Loan to keep my employees employed so they could feed their families.

For those citing PPP Loans and their forgiveness as a reason not to be critical of student loan forgiveness, there were some MAJOR differences. When I took out Student Loans in college, I knew I would have to pay them back.
