Last trip on the A before 9 days off…

2025 has had its ups and downs, but has flown by, for me at least. Many changes here in Luton, with some very welcome fleet upgrades. I look forward to seeing what opportunities the next 12 months bring... Wishing all of you on here the best for 2026, happy new year 🎉

Elon, It’s alright here We get rinsed by privatisation, our politicians can be bellends, inequality is a massive issue but overwhelmingly we’re good people who get on. Our kids don’t get shot at while at school, our healthcare doesn’t bankrupt us, we remove people with Epstein links from our system, and we don’t worship our politicians like cult leaders because we’re above that So please, pipe TF down.

Work recently, including the long awaited arrival of the last Evora - 3210, the only one on a 75 plate!

A year ago today was my final day at Stevenage depot, where I worked for 4 months before transferring home. I drove a motley crew of vehicles with some decent runs out to places like Rickmansworth, Letchworth and... Luton 😅 Must say, I do miss driving VDL Pulsars!

@busnutolly What are those Scanias like to drive? Nice to see something other than pure ADL at Bedford again 👍

Day 1 of 2 on Duxford shuttles completed. A very enjoyable day with some great company and in some very rateable traction 🚌

@_mylesw We had that with a few of ours for a while. Very frustrating when you’re on out of town services.

3793 and 3796 for some X84s today. Not in any rush to drive 3796 again 🤣.

While I am a Busway driver I do occasionally get to spread my wings on to our other routes at Luton depot - also means driving some different buses! My favourite is probably the 321 to Watford, which has recently been increased to a 15-minute daytime frequency

2802 marks my 139th bus and my first go of one of the ex-Luton E200 MMCs. Definitely not as good as our newer yellow MMCs but still quite nice to drive. 😁

And looking back at what we left behind, a motley bunch of B7s (a fair few great to drive, I must add) and familiar old routes. It feels like I barely drive to MK now... 😔

A month on from the network changes here in Luton 27 of the 30 new B8s are in service and I've driven 21 of them, not bad going The X2 and X3 are by far my favourite of the current selection on Busway 💨

2318 is Hinckley’s latest arrival, displacing 3156, which has gone to Luton…

@ShiresBusNews Luton: New Volvo B8RLE/MCV Evoras 3206/8/9 (BU25ZBC/E/F) entered service on the Busway yesterday. 3201 (BU25YZT) has also arrived at Luton. Scania K230 3514 (YR59NNU) has been withdrawn with 3515 expected to follow soon. User1256.
