Built an ART in C++ with ROWEX concurrency control. Benchmarked against RocksDB’s InlineSkipList with GPT-5.4’s help. No tuning yet: 3.2× get, 1.7× scan, 1.5× write throughput on 16 threads. Even bigger gain on prev, partly due to RocksDB inefficiencies.

@CroxxMr True. But small keys are actually good for ART, right? As they should be more dense.

Why is ART less popular than skiplists and B+ trees in the database field? 🤔

@sunbains I saw some ramdom slides on the internet said that ART is way better than skiplist on performance. Though skiplist is a lot simpler than ART. And totally agree on LLM part, I plan to vibe one this weekend!

AI 运维可能还早，但是 AI 诊断已经真的来临了。团队新人用 AI agent 一键 oncall，定位问题快准狠，根本没老兵什么事。🤣🤣🤣

this is the part people dont talk about enough - ai diagnostics actually works before ai ops does. your on-call scenario is the perfect use case because the agent can do the grunt work of finding the issue, then a human makes the call. the speed difference is massive when the agent can spin through logs while you make coffee.

最近买车送充电桩，特斯拉三代单相充电桩只需要 1499，包 40 米安装，超出部分 45 元每米。而我两年前买的 Cyber 桩，4617，只包 30 米安装，超出部分 50 元每米。不仅仅车是电子产品，充电桩也是电子产品，等等永远不亏。都说铜不够用了，咋这铜芯充电线还更便宜了。

今天查了下学校排名，我的学校从两年前 THE 排名 500 上升到了 300 以内，于是某些签证的评分系统可以直接加分，躺赢了。这个学校排名评分维度只考虑现状，每年抽奖实在有点抽象，按就读毕业时的历史最高排名还符合逻辑一些。

昨天 vibe 10 分钟，用 AI 生成了一个 PWA，用来给证件加水印。我只写了一个简单的需求文档，描述了有哪些页面，每个页面都需要干啥，以及可重复应用的编辑历史。AI 全实现了，接入我的 homelab，开箱即用。可以预见简单的工具类应用前途非常暗淡。

我发现我生活中用的最多的 AI 是微信搜索中的深度思考搜索和 X 中的 Grok。他们免费、联网、没有 IP 访问限制、问答质量还可以。

@conn0rboom 如果大模型能达到编译器的可靠程度，倒也不是不可以当甩手掌柜。

@busyjaylee 但随着 vibe coding 可用性的进一步提升，这个虚无感可能也会逐渐变化。就相当于更高层的抽象，比如已经很少会关心到汇编以及 cpu 微指令层面，但大家仍很心安理得的用😳

周末 vibe 了两天，把 credits 用掉了一半，工具做出来了，但是我对于其实现原理依然一无所知。🤣 有一种中医治病的虚无感。张文宏其实是有道理的，如果二十年前就有 AI，我以前自学获得的很多知识可能就再也不会掌握。AI 时代人更需要自律和兴趣驱动。
