@jc_playmakerWNY Reminds me of watching HS soccer over club. Playing for something bigger than just yourself and teamates.

Not sure why but I enjoy watching international soccer way more than club.

@bv_north @NFL_DovKleiman Ah yes. Burrow had a better coaching staff than both Josh and Lamar. Had a better defense than both Josh and Lamar. Had a better offensive line than Josh and Lamar. If you put Burrow on either the ravens or bills… he’d be in a Super Bowl with them.

@BeauIgor I’ve been told they’d never hold up in court because you can’t stop someone from seeking work.

It’s tryout season!! When trying out for a new club, ask if that club makes their coaches sign a non compete. Should tell you everything you need to know about that club. Some things… never change.

@jc_playmakerWNY Love coaching at the HS level, tough for the boys to manage during season

I haven’t coached a High School team in over ten years. Haven’t coached a club team of HS aged athletes over the same amount of time. (Run my own training biz) I love the HS kids that have jobs. Reffing, bus boy/girl, host/hostess, golf course Anyone have any opinions on this?

@Don_K_Williams No, absolutely not…. Simply saying that no sense cutting anyone at that age, has little if anything to do with skill level… they all need to have a spot

@bv_north Are you saying cut those 6 yr olds who haven’t physically developed yet?

I’m probably in a very small minority with this opinion but… Why any parent would put their 5-6-7-8 year old into a tryout environment where kids get cut is beyond my comprehension

@jc_playmakerWNY There’s a place for working with the starting 11 during practices, but never away from the full team! At any time, any of the 22 can be part of the 11 on game day, why would you NOT want them to be a part of training / strategy? Groups are never trained differently or separately!

I wish coaches knew the ramifications of training their teams like this. I’ve seen more teams destroyed over this type of training than any other. It also destroys a kids confidence. Stop doing this so often.

@jc_playmakerWNY @benjmorey That’s a good policy, and it’s both for the younger kid playing up as well as the appropriate age, as they impact both players.

@benjmorey I always carried the standard that players shouldn’t play up unless they are in the top 3 of the older team.

We see this a lot with our ECNL players. Where they were big fish in their small one age group team. Now, they are small fish on a four-five age group team.
