Yesterday I was a panelist during a session on *Impact démocratique du rétrécissement de l'espace civique* - Democratic impact of shrinking civic space: I called on my learned friends across continent to foster greater collaboration, sharing ideas, solidarity etc in our role as the last line of defence against autocratic, militaristic & selfish rulers in Africa who will do anything to stay in power by shrinking civic space. They will rig elections, capture civil society orgs under guise of complying with FATF, target human rights defenders & political opponents, abuse state security organs, change laws to entrench rule, & become immune to criticism whilst criminalising association, assembly, expression amongst other rights......

ULS Legal Aid in Kabale carried out a community sensitization where they discussed the bail process, plea bargain, community service for petty offenders and human rights. #RuleofLawWeek23

#RuleofLawWeek23 prison sensitization at Jinja Remand Prison by ULS LAP Jinja Clinic. Inmates were sensitized on the trail procedure, right to apply for bail, and the plea bargain processes.

@OkwalingaMoses1,ULS C.E.O while on @ntvuganda, today, discussed the establishment of ULS under the Uganda Law Society Act of 1956 which mandates the ULS to advise government on matters affecting legislation, practice of law, promoting human rights,the rule of law & access to justice. And that the ongoing #RuleofLawWeek23 is one of the various initiatives in furtherance of this mandate.

As part of the various countrywide activities urdergoing in the #RuleofLawWeek23, we organized a debate on the role of the youth in promoting human rights amongst university students in Mbarara held at Bishop Stuart University.
