A deadly Black Mamba is snatched mid-air by a Snake Eagle… but the hunter becomes the hunted as the snake twists free and locks onto the eagle’s talons in a brutal struggle. Before either can escape, lions arrive on the scene, turning the chaos into a full-scale battle-leaving the trapped eagle with almost no chance of breaking free. #videosvuvu

Ashu Reddy, whom director Ram Gopal Varma worships and licks her feet, has been accused of cheating. She entered a relationship with a UK-based software engineer, YV Dharmendra, in 2018. He accused her of cheating him of approximately ₹9.35 crore under the pretext of marriage. An FIR was filed at the Hyderabad Central Crime Station. He claims her family members are involved too. A leaked audio clip has recently surfaced in which a woman, purportedly Ashu, is heard offering a ₹1.5 crore settlement and mentioning astrologer Venu Swamy as a mediator. Ashu Reddy has strongly denied all allegations, claiming it was filed to damage her reputation without hearing her side. Ashu warned of strict legal action against anyone spreading misinformation and shared photos from a temple visit in Kolhapur to signal her resilience during the controversy.

Look at this map. Nagpur 45°. Ahmedabad 44°. Prayagraj 43°. Delhi 42°. The entire country is a single dark red mass. This is not a heatwave. This is a country that was told its forests were fine. And this is April. Not May. Not June. The hottest months have not even arrived yet. The past few days have been hell. So I did what I always do when something bothers me. I went looking for answers. What I found was a policy con job that has been running for over two decades. But before I explain what happened, let's clear some definitions. A garden is not a forest. An orchard is not a forest. A plantation is not a forest. A forest is a living system. Soil, water, fungi, insects, birds, mammals, decades of accumulated complexity, specific to its land and climate. It cannot be designed. It cannot be harvested. It regulates water, cools land, shelters hundreds of species. It takes decades to become what it is. You can plant a forest. But it will take decades to become one. In 2001, India's forests were disappearing. The Indian state, led by the Vajpayee government, faced a choice. Protect what remained, or change what the numbers said. It chose the numbers. The Forest Survey of India quietly changed the definition of what a forest means. Any land with 10% tree canopy cover and more than one hectare in area was now a forest. Your mango orchard. A coconut plantation in Tamil Nadu. A tea garden in Assam. Lodhi Garden in Delhi. All forests, on paper. The FSI will tell you that 10% canopy cover follows international norms. The FAO also uses 10% as its threshold. But the FAO's definition comes with a crucial exclusion that India's FSI quietly dropped.  The FAO explicitly states that fruit tree plantations, oil palm plantations, olive orchards, and agroforestry systems are not forests. The World Bank says the same. India adopted the number but discarded the exclusion.  It took the cover of international legitimacy while gutting the standard that gave it meaning. The government will also tell you this was never hidden. That it was publicly stated in every report, disclosed in Parliament. That is technically true. But a disclosure buried in a technical government document is not transparency. It is the appearance of transparency.  I did not know any of this until I went looking. Neither do most Indians whose forests, whose land, whose air this directly concerns. The con is not in what was hidden from experts. It is in what was never explained to the people it was done to. This is not a technicality. This is the con. It was a trick as old as power itself. If you cannot fix the problem, fix the measurement. For ten years after 2001, Congress governed India. Two terms, two environment ministers, including Jairam Ramesh, one of the more serious ones. They saw the numbers. They knew what the numbers meant. They did nothing. Because the lie was convenient. India looked good in international climate negotiations. The fiction of a greening India served everyone in power, so everyone in power kept it. Congress did not create this lie. It simply chose, year after year, to live inside it. The BJP is different. When they returned to power in 2014, they came with something Congress never had. An absolute majority, and no coalition compulsions. They did not merely inherit the lie. They built on it. And in 2023, they legislated it. The Forest Conservation Amendment Act of 2023 removed legal protection from "deemed forests." Forests that existed outside the official definition but were ecologically real.  Forests that Adivasi communities had lived in and depended on for generations. Forests that cooled land, held water, sheltered species. They were not on the right list. Since the amendment, forest destruction on Adivasi land has accelerated.  The people who knew these forests best, who had protected them longest, now watch them being cleared. Legally. CONT++

As someone who’s constantly travelling between Pune and Mumbai, I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve been stuck in the Lonavala ghat for hours. So for me, the Missing Link isn’t just “30 mins saved.” It’s those random 1–2 hours stuck behind trucks that finally go away. Glad heavy vehicles won’t be allowed initially. Less stress, safer drives, especially during monsoons. Also, driving through the cable bridge in the rains on a fresh route… that’s something I’m actually looking forward to. Can’t wait to experience this.

A disturbing incident has come to light in Bengaluru’s Abbigere, where a woman and her husband, reportedly a former Indian Army officer, have been accused of making derogatory remarks toward a Muslim man, leading to tension in the locality. A video of the altercation, captured by the Muslim man’s side, has been circulating on the internet. According to reports, the couple allegedly told the man, “You are Muslim, you are Pakistani, you are a terrorist,” which enraged him. He then left the scene and returned with others to confront them. In the video, the couple can be seen standing at the entrance of their apartment, while the Muslim man, along with three to four men, stands in front of the door confronting the retired Army officer. The exchange is definitely heated, with the Muslim man’s side strongly objecting to the inflammatory nature of the remarks. A man in a white shirt, likely the leader of the group, is seen firmly confronting the retired officer, supported by others. "Tere baap ka mulk hai? Bol, uncle. Tumhare baap ka mulk hai? Nahi, yeh sabka mulk hai." (Is this your father’s country? Tell me, uncle. Is this your father’s country? No, this is everyone’s country.) "Haan, phir kaise bol sakti hai tumhari wife ki yeh Musalman hai, yeh terrorist hai?" (Then how can your wife say that he is a Muslim, that he is a terrorist?) Another man from the Muslim man’s side stepped in and said, "Yeh tumhara North nahi hai, yeh Karnataka hai." (This is not your North; this is Karnataka.) The man in the white shirt confronted the retired officer, referring to his profession, and said, "Tum defence mein kaam karte ho, tum Indian Army mein ho, toh tumhare andar patriotism zyada hona chahiye. Tumhari wife phir kaise kisi ko bol sakti hai ki tum Musalman ho kya? Tum terrorist ho kya?" (You work in defence, you are in the Indian Army, so you should have a greater sense of patriotism. How can your wife say to someone, ‘Are you a Muslim? Are you a terrorist?’) "Yahan sab secular-minded hain. Tum apni gandh soch se yahan gandagi mat machao. Yahan Hindu, Muslim, Sikh, Isai sab ek hain. Tum aur tumhare jaise log yahan aake dharm, jaat, paat lekar mat baanto," the man in the white shirt added. (Everyone here is secular-minded. Don’t spread filth here with your dirty thinking. Here, Hindus, Muslims, Sikhs, and Christians are all one. You and people like you should not come here and divide others based on religion, caste, or community.) Issuing a stern warning to the retired officer, he said, “Dharm ke baare mein baat karne se pehle soch-samajh kar baat karna - yeh first aur last warning hai. Sab cheezon ke liye maafi maango. Iske baad agar kuch hua, uncle, toh apartment mein aake road pe ghaseet kar beizzat karenge.” (Think carefully before speaking about religion - this is your first and last warning. Apologise for everything. If anything happens after this, uncle, we will come to your apartment, drag you onto the road, and humiliate you.) After being confronted, the couple apologised for their remarks, leading to a de-escalation of tensions that could have easily worsened.
