This week, as we mark GAWE 2026, we’re reminded that access to education is still out of reach for far too many children. Through the Kuyenda Program, we’re working directly with communities to close that gap supporting inclusive learning spaces and strengthening local voices to advocate for better investment in education. There’s real momentum on the ground, but scaling this work takes partnership. We’re open to working with those ready to invest in long-term, community-led change. #GAWE2026 #KuyendaProgram #FundEducation @KuyendaC

This evening, we are excited to host a team form @SaltTvUganda as they interview our Executive Director @MNakabug about the proposed Primary Leaving Examinations grading system. She highlights the importance of Competence Based Curriculum, focusing on learners' ability / skills beyond grades. Let’s have a measure to assess what learners are able to do at different level.

Uwezo Uganda joins the world today in celebrating the International Day of Women and Girls in Science. UNESCO reports women make up just 33% of researchers globally and only 35% of STEM graduates. In Uganda, our 2025 Girls’ Education Conference Communiqué called for stronger investment in girls’ STEM participation, teacher support, and safe learning environments to close the persistent gender gaps. #WomenInScience #GirlsInSTEM #EducationForAll

“The Teenage Pregnancy Surveillance and Response Platform is an initiative by the Ministry of Health, developed in collaboration with JLOS, to strengthen how stakeholders tackle teenage pregnancies,” noted Dr. Allan Kasozi, as he presented on the Status of the National Adolescent and School Health Program 2024–2025, at the #PreYouthSMConfUG25. In alignment with the National Development plan IV, the @MinofHealthUG has launched several key policy documents including; •The National Adolescent Health Costed Implementation Plan (2025/26–2029/30) •The Multi-Sectoral Efforts to End Teenage Pregnancy and Child Marriage in Uganda – 2024/2025 Annual Report •The National Teenage Pregnancy Surveillance, Response and Accountability Framework.
