I really hope the @OpenUniversity listens to its students and staff over the betrayal of Associate Lecturers. I’d be surprised if a decent man like @TimJBlackman will allow this new contract fiasco to continue to damage the university and the ALs who are the bedrock of the OU

@lorfongra @Sarah_RedMeeple @OpenUniversity I had to teach a few hours after it was announced we might feel "disappointment" at no longer getting secure permanent jobs this October. At the end the students thanked me enthusiastically for all they had learned.

In 2018/19 Open University + @OUBUCU reached historic agreement providing 4k precarious workers with more job security + improved rights. OU were lauded for beginning to 'lead the way' for the sector on #SecureWork. They have now thoroughly + atrociously betrayed their own staff
