If the Giants were in a total rebuild, then you could make a case, potentially, for the Dex trade being ok. But I thought they were competing? Isn't that the point of hiring Harbaugh? They lost this trade. They just did.

The #Giants did have conversations with Dexter Lawrence's side about a contract "near" $28m APY, however, for them to go there, they wanted more years, per sources. That was denied, along with all others proposed structures. There was never a counter provided to #NYG. Became very clear Lawrence just wanted out. Which is why, despite the No. 10 pick being on the table dating back "roughly two weeks," per sources, things didn't finalize until Saturday. Giants were hoping to find a resolution. They couldn't. Both sides moved on.

Some thoughts on Dexter Lawrence before I spend the night watching WR Film bro -The $28.5M number is finally out there and I simply would have paid him that. I would have loved to signed the best player on the team to play for us until he was 33 during Jaxson Dart's rookie contract -The trade win or lose will be simple to judge. For it to be a win, the player needs to be a top of market player who you keep for 2 contracts or Dexter has to be an actual decline. A Kayvon level player is a loss for me. So go and do it. -I think the down year has been greatly exaggerated although it has to be acknowledged and it was terrible timing for Dexter to want a new deal with 2 years left. Him wanting a new deal with 3 years left was delusional. I am betting that 2025 was an outlier for him and NYG could have gotten him locked for a non market setting deal but this was all terrible timing -It was about money, its always about the money -This was handled by John Harbaugh & Dawn Aponte which leads to the question... what does he even do? -I'm not exactly sure what I want with picks 5 & 10 but I know I want Caleb Downs as part of it -On a personal note, very glad this happened now instead of clouding draft night because I love draft night. Now I can get excited for 2 top 10 picks. Dexter Lawrence was an elite player that I think most will respect when time heals some wounds. He's been on the team the entire time I've been doing content and it was a joy to watch you dominate @agentdexy97. LETS GO BIG BLUE

How long have I been saying how much Dexter Lawrence dislikes Joe Schoen? I still don't understand why Harbaugh has kept him around other than Harbaugh found himself a good lapdog.

If the Giants took both Sonny Styles and Caleb Downs, it wouldn't surprise me if both the Buckeye Boys were near the top of the league in snaps played. They're that good, and Jaxson Dart would be running for his life with no one to throw to when Malik Nabers is double-teamed.

@DanSchneierNFL @YankeesOutsider Dan, teams have been doubling Dex for years now So yes it’s true to say it benefits others on the roster it’s not necessarily the justification for a decline in performance from elite to just plain good

@YankeesOutsider I hear that but the flip side of it is he wasn’t that bad in 2025. He just wasn’t the same. He was doubled more than any player and the defense was significantly worse without him. Also, if they move on it could crush the 2026 defensive upside of the talent already on roster

This doesn’t make it sound like he’ll be on the Giants in 2026. This was handled poorly. A player of his caliber should’ve never been made to feel like the org is not 100% behind him not after a “down” year that wasn’t really down on tape & not based on when he signed a contract.

@c_p1985 @Kross_420 Giants disagree with your first half of your statement they used multiple top 30 visits on WRs expected to go in the first round, at least 3 that are going in the top 15 you don't waste those visits unless you think taking them is an option

The Giants taking Tyson at 5 is worse than us taking Love or Downs

@Bengals_J @AndreBengals Quinnen Williams went for a 1st, 2nd and a player. Lawrence even in a bad year is a better DT The base for any deal needs to be the Williams deal and everything coming from the Giants suggests that’s their view so anyone thinking otherwise is living in cloud cuckoo land

@AndreBengals I agree with this. No way he’s fetching a 1st round when there’s 7 days before the draft. Best I see them getting is two 2nds. This seems much more inline with a valid trade.

Correct on Cricket . A more skillful game . Wrong on NFL . "Padded rugby" is a game of set plays played at the highest intensity & speed . The uneducated believe wearing helmets is soft , but they often lead to some of the worst injuries & brutal collisions . I've watched a lot of rugby & a lot of NFL & can undoubtedly say there's more serious impact injury in American Football . The pads / helmets do not make it easier - they make it more dangerous .

Dexter Lawrence has ZERO guaranteed $$ left on his deal. That's why he's posturing for more. It makes complete sense why he's doing this. He has EVERY right to fight for more guaranteed money, and this is what it looks like. Done with this until it's over lol
