My grandfather's 1938 Kalamazoo by Gibson lapsteel. You want gritty sounds, this is it. He got me into music and and taught me what little i know. I'm lucky enough to end up with most of his guitars being 1 of 60 grandkids after trying for 20 years to get them.

Now where do you think Soldano and Diezel got their circuitry from? Let me explain something to you. I can name at least 6 manufacturers who use Marshall circuitry in their amplifiers. These are known as "inspired" by Marshall amps. Friedman, Soldano, Bogner, Suhr, Splawn, and Ceriatone all utilize Marshall's circuits in their amplifiers especially from the JTM45, 1959 Plexi. I've worked on all of these amps at one time or another and I can guarantee you they do use them. Laney, Orange, Synergy, Rivera and Blackstar are also well known Marshall clones with a twist. So there you go. All of these amps and several boutique amp manufacturers use Marshall circuits some in modular form or hand wired but they all are inspired by Marshall. =)
