If this week was your longest run - or your first marathon, then please listen.
Tomorrow, you’re probably going to feel wrecked. Calves, ankles, quads…even your shoulders. And don’t be surprised if there’s some serious brain fog too.
Just recover.
For most runners, it takes longer than you think. Don’t try to be a hero and jump right back in. That’s the fastest way to get injured after a marathon. You’re not going to lose all your fitness. Take the week off. Go for some easy walks, relax, and let your body actually heal.
Once the aches and pains are gone, give it another 2–3 days before slowly easing back into training. For some 5-10 days recovery is fine, for others it may be 2-3 weeks. The key is to listen to your body and don't force runs if the body is telling you it's not ready. You accomplished something pretty big. Just enjoy it so you can stay healthy and do another. 👊

English

@RyanMcAleerbiz @JP_Biz How much of this is due to price gouging Vs. panic buying?

There it is. +81% on last week.

A few friends are heading to Derry this weekend to support the footballers. Incredible commitment! Alas, I’m working late on Saturday night so I can’t make it.
Instead the wife and kids and of course myself are all heading to Kilkenny to support the hurlers on Sunday .
This is a good example of how the GAA knits lifetime relationships tightly together. Bonds made on journeys like this become intrinsic to family & friend relationships long after the event has taken place.
It won’t be all plain sailing. Both cars will have stops for refreshments, stops for wee breaks and stops for one or two of the boys to get sick. There will be laughs, farts and non stop chatter.
Two different vehicles going to two different locations on the island of Ireland in search of glory and meaning. These raw physical and emotional journeys put guttural meaning into our lives. They are in many ways an Irish love language.

@derryjournal Not just the Strand road, every road around the town is a disgrace. Maybe the Mlas could chip in with some of their 14k payrise to contribute to fixing the roads and pot holes.

400 reports of cars damaged by potholes on Derry’s Strand Rd. "Donegal roads used to be the butt of Derry drivers' jokes. The shoe is on the other foot. I'm not suggesting in a new Ireland streets will be paved with gold but they'll at least be paved."

@johnjazzharan @ulsterschools Poor stuff that John. From being the curtain raiser to the McRory final on St.Patricks day to this.

Ridiculous from @ulsterschools . To play a Mac Larnon Cup final at 6pm on a Thursday night is poor form. (Belfast) Apparently it was originally fixed for Astro in Owenbeg until both managers refused to play on Astro. Surely they could get good club pitch in Derry/Tyr on Sat/Sun

By this stage, the likes of the Kerry team will have been sent to Donegal, the Cork team to Galway and Tyrone’s to Derry. Asking counties to give that sort of advantage to home sides is silly. Expecting them to be honest is simply naive. #GAA
