Interesting BIP-110 anomaly detected in @LukeDashjr's estimated node counts. Went from less than one-third of Knots v29 nodes to nearly half of them in a single day. I've seen these types of jumps happen before in his data...not sure what causes them tho. wickedsmartbitcoin.com/node_count

@luisschwab_ When a miner puts a coinbase in a block, they set the amount to the subsidy + fees. If they leave out the fees, that omitted amount just isn't claimed, and Bitcoin Core counts it as unspendable. The same thing happens if the subsidy isn't included: that amount also shows up...🧵

@caesrcd @narcelio Quanto o Narcélio usou apenas `total_amount` eu questionei os OP_RETURN. Quando você adicionou `total_unspendable_amount` (que inclui os OP_RETURN) então eu questionei os não minerados.

Hoje celebramos a mineração do bitcoin número 20 milhões mas, tecnicamente, ainda faltam alguns. O código permite minerar MENOS moedas que o limite e alguns mineradores fizeram isso no passado. Segundo meu fullnode, ainda faltam uns 100 BTC.

@vforvilela @narcelio Na minha opinião, moedas não existem; existem apenas transações. Mineração é encontrar o hash do bloco seguindo o protocolo, ou seja, o que é minerado são os blocos, não as moedas. Um bloco minerado dá recompensa ao minerador; mesmo que não seja gastável, ainda foi minerada.

@vforvilela @narcelio Mostra sim. Para saber quantos foram liberados, basta somar `total_amount + total_unspendable_amount`. Todos os coins que foram queimados são contabilizados em `total_unspendable_amount`. A altura 939.999 (940.000º) é o bloco exato que contabiliza os 20M de moedas mineradas.

@narcelio Me corrija se eu estiver errado... Esse código não te diz quantos foram minerados, pq vc não está computando, por exemplo, os queimados em OP_RETURN.

I used to think BIP110ers were like Bcashers. Idealistic but wrong. Then I realized they’re more like BSVers. They want blacklists, permissions, and confiscation features, but will gaslight and deny it.

Holy shit, I just realized BIP-110 effectively limits the size of multisig in P2WSH and P2TR scripts to 7 keys. That's even more insane than I previously considered.

If that were true, every planet would be the center of the universe and orbits just an illusion. The absurdity shows the mistake: in GR, picking your coordinates doesn’t change the physics - Earth still orbits the Sun.

So it's reasonable to look at the locality and default to: small orbits big. It is insane to say "sun orbits earth" unless the context is explicitly something very theorethical.
