Our 2025 data is in – and California remains the #1 state in the country for jobs supported by foreign-investment. Last year, foreign-owned companies supported more than 847,000 jobs, an increase of over 33,000 from 2024.

California isn’t just participating in global trade—we’re reshaping it. Since 2023, Governor Newsom has invested $1.5B+ to modernize ports, including $450M for zero-emission infrastructure, while green shipping partnerships with Japan and China boost jobs and supply chains.

NEW: As part of this year’s budget, @CAGovernor Gavin Newsom will propose a major tax break that seeks to reduce startup costs for entrepreneurs. California is the Number 1 state for new business starts, and this new effort will bolster that standing.
