@mitchellh Curious to know if you are still using the Nix in a VM setup to develop Ghostty, and if so, did you make your macOS setup work with nix-darwin?
The macOS interface of Ghostty started as a single Zig file (Linux was first). I quickly realized I needed Swift for access to native features and figured I'd just need a few files. Today, still in beta, the macOS build of Ghostty has become quite a large, complex application!
This is all GUI stuff. The core terminal emulation, input handling, rendering, config parsing, etc. is all cross-platform shared logic in Zig. It's incredible how complex it is to build a good GUI. The screenshot below isn't even all of it...
The Linux build is less complicated but still sprawls across a dozen or so files that purely interfaces with GTK.
All the character portraits and inventory icons are AI generated placeholders. All other assets are temporary first drafts. But it's slowly becoming a game!
