Wonderful work, David! The concept that ETC flux—not ATP—licenses cDC1 immunogenicity through /metabolite control of DNA methylation is conceptually beautiful. Congrats to Ignacio, Stefanie and the whole team! Thanks for giving us the chance to learn throught this collaboration!

🤔Do you think that OXPHOS in DCs = tolerance? 🚨In our new @Cell_Metabolism study @CNIC_CARDIO , we show that active #mitochondrial ETC primes cDC1s for immunogenicity, boosting anti-tumor immunity. Life (and #immunometabolism) is not simple ⚡️(1/9) OPEN: cell.com/cell-metabolis…

Skin #TMA samples, designed by @calafell_p a very nice way to optimize the #Xenium slide space! Skin is also a very difficult tissue to work with... thankfully we got nice results :)

🚨Researchers at @eballestar's lab describe the abnormal immune response in CVID patients under SARS-Cov2 infection Results show persistent Interferon I signature and inflammasome activation long after recovery Read the news piece here 👇 carrerasresearch.org/en/news/sars-c… A bit more? CVID patients produce very few antibodies and, therefore, can not build a proper immune response. It is the most frequent primary immunodeficency and can affect up to 1 in 25.000 people. Persistent infections like COVID-19 help understand how CVID immune system reacts and might offer some clues on how to manage affected patients in the clinic. The research team included Dr. Roser Vento-Tormo @sangerinstitute and Dr. Klaus Warnatz @UniFreiburg Funding by @CaixaResearch Follow us for more! 👍

The ggplot2 package has become so popular over the years that there are now over 100 extension packages specifically designed to enhance ggplot2 visualizations. These extensions make the ggplot2 syntax even more efficient and help create stunning graphs with ease. In the upcoming Statistics Globe online course, we’ll explore some of the most useful extensions. I’ve created dedicated course modules on the following: - geomtextpath: Combines text and paths for creative labeling along lines. - gganimate: Adds dynamic animations to your visualizations. - ggdist: Enhances visual representation of distributions and uncertainty. - gghighlight: Highlights specific data points or groups in your plots. - ggiraph: Makes your plots interactive with hover and click features. - ggpubr: Simplifies publication-ready plot creation with user-friendly functions. - ggrepel: Improves readability by preventing overlapping text labels. - ggstatsplot: Integrates statistical tests directly into your visualizations. - ggtext: Adds rich text formatting capabilities to your plots. - patchwork: Easily combines multiple plots into cohesive layouts. To give you a sneak peek of my favorite extensions, I’ve created a new YouTube video introducing my personal Top 5. Do you agree with my list? Let me know in the comments! Watch the video here: youtube.com/watch?v=44hTsl… Interested in diving deeper? Join the comprehensive Statistics Globe online course on Data Visualization in R Using ggplot2 & Friends, starting November 25. 🆕 Do not miss the latest study of @eballestar’s group, published at Science Advances (@ScienceMagazine)! 🔗 carrerasresearch.org/en/news/low-ox… The researchers have found evidence that low oxygen levels in tumours could actually enhance some of the body’s immune responses against #cancer, in contrast with the general paradigm that #hypoxia exclusively helps cancer progression.
