@MenaxeSione @Lmachain1 @mister_shroom_2 Absolutly not, HL thinking he is a literal God instead of just thinking he was better than everyone else is a s5 adaptation of writing focusing more on political events and biases(trump) which Eric Kripke literally said that they have been leaning more and more is sloopy writing

@calic3_ivan @Lmachain1 @mister_shroom_2 No, it’s good, consistent writing. The Boys has plenty of issues, but HL’s characterization has never been one of them. He’s always been a pitiful man baby who happens to be Superman in his verse. Take away the Superman abilities and you just have the man baby.

@MenaxeSione @Lmachain1 @mister_shroom_2 No, that was just bad last season writing and directors/writers political views and biases eg. Homelander is Trump and if you really think that was a good last season and finale than that makes me sad.

@calic3_ivan @Lmachain1 @mister_shroom_2 No, his reaction would be fear, like we saw in the finale, because he’s a pussy who’s nothing without his powers. The show has been telling us this. He was only tough cause he knew he was the strongest. He was always going to fold the moment he was truly at someone’s mercy.

@Lmachain1 @mister_shroom_2 Take any strong villain from history- nazis didnt beg or cry at trials, nor Saddam, Gaddafi when captures by US forces only asked for coat so that he doesnt shake in front of people, Hitler killed himself when he lost all power. It varies but that ending is just political trash.

Because he had powers. And with those powers comes (sigh) hope. His entire life he’s been able to protect himself with his powers, even if he’s still endured some pain. In that cell, he still believes he is getting out. It’s why while he falls to his knees sick, he still tells Butcher he will get the V1. If he truly feared for his life, he wouldn’t be talking about getting V1 and making them paste. What do you think his reaction would have been if he stayed in the cell longer? The weaker he got, the less power he would have, the less hope he would have… eventually he’d start begging for his life. Offering deals and compromises. But only once he knew he was fucked. When those powers are gone in the last episode, there is nothing left immediately. No lasers. No flying away. No super strength. No hope.

@Lmachain1 @mister_shroom_2 You are wrong and here is one example why: When he gets locked in the uranium cell, experiencing extreme pain for probably one of handfull of times in his adult life, he didnt cry and beg butcher or soldier boy to let him go He got angry at the end at Butcher and broke out.

Do you want a shovel? At what point has Homelander ever shown he wasn’t anything but a man child? His main nemesis in season 1 was a baby…. He wasn’t even fighting with Butcher till like the end of Season 1. He was a child. This is spoon fed to you by the fact he’s obsessed with breastfeeding and breast milk.

The post is specifically criticising his super hearing, I’m addressing that it isn’t on 24/7 and that it needs to be honed in on. From a character level Homelander is at the top of his ego, in the same episode he tells Oh Father he isn’t scared of Butcher because he believes he’s literally a God. He’s focused on the speech and doesn’t care. Stop calling things bad writing
