@GothTransFem so much media now just has the characters be like “i guess im mean to u bcuz my dad was mean to me as a kid?” a character realizing their flaws can be cathartic, but too often now they just say everything you should have to think deeply about right to the camera.

tadc discourse and theorizing is weird because its like. the least subtle show ever made. it is constantly having characters look into the camera and scream the story and themes to you and yet people still argue and speculate like theres anything ambiguous about it

@fontfamily i think this kinda assumes that the deltarune world looks like a game to the characters, and they are canonically originated from the game and we arent just being connected to a world in a game like way, and they hear the text sound when they talk and idk if i believe all those…

@fontfamily what do u think about the hc that when he talks like how he does in abc_123_a.ogg its bcuz hes trying rlly hard to replicate how we talk but he just cant get it quite right bcuz hes a computer program

for being our only frame of reference for the inside of the shelter, ive hardly heard any opinions on the interior of the game board version like why is it coloured in deep blue, or what even is the floor texture supposed to be (sand? rock?)

@fontfamily i keep having dreams where toby just starts selling gaster merch and talking about gaster openly and doing that annoying thing where creators will tease a mysterious character on their socials by just posting a bunch of their secret lore and i always wake up screaming

@calicoloser like, he isn't AM AM is full of hate for humanity, while caine is full of THE FEAR of humans hating him, i see it as an interesting twist on the evil ai thing, he is more like a child, like zooble said, doesnt listen to others and has a fragile ego

@HyperCake69 i respect ur opinion, maybe i just kinda made a version of caine in my head and when it didnt end up like that i was dissapointed. i felt he just kinda reminded me too much of AM for him to feel new, but i can see the differences u mean, i just kinda wish they went more in on it

@calicoloser i kinda disagree, for example caine becoming "evil" people at first may think, oh, he is AM 2.0 now, but in reality he is still the opposite, he still loves humans, he just got really angry at them but even later admits he doesnt even feel good torturing them after a while

@xSGR_A_STARx tbh i wouldnt be so bothered about everything if they didnt treat the characters like theyre in the wrong for being mad at jax. like u can have a character who is an asshole who refuses to change, but everytime hes called out the other characters are like “woah too far…” 😭😭😭

Tbh Jax could’ve been confirmed to be one of the two main characters from the very beginning and I still would’ve found him irritating he’s just an aggravating unlikable character to me and he doesn’t have much else going on for him to keep me emotionally invested

@_waiting_room i think the devil horn headband got snapped in half when dess was taken, and half of it became ralsei representing everything kris feels they should be, and the other half became ERAM representing all the things kris hates about themself ^_^

theres this thing about me where if theres something unexplained in a piece of media and no one theory clicks with me and it seems unexplainable i get pissed at the thing itself . like eram . eram pisses me off 😭💔

I just realized these characters have the exact same problem when it comes to the their respective shows.

@dessriel maybe its intentional and means something and im just not seeing it tho, i trust toby fox and i think hes a good writer, this is just like a small thing that bugs me

@dessriel i wouldnt be so bothered by it if it wasnt literally called lost girl and its being used when like ralsei is bummed out, like the song fits but it just feels like it kinda weakens its connection to the holidays trauma and the “lost girl”

confession time i really thought lost girl was exclusively going to be noelle + dess' theme and i was disappointed when it was reused post-chp2
