I’m sorry but unless you understand how the code actually works, the “vibes” are not good, the “vibes” are a red flag

I think frontend interactivity is overrated for most websites. When I submit a form and don’t see my browser loading a new page the chance of bugs in general on that site is significantly higher.

A crazy thought experiment: let’s make Page the default post type in WordPress and make Posts (and all that come with them) opt-in. Here's why it'd make the UX cleaner, onboarding easier, and help WordPress fight the view that it's "just for blogging". briancoords.com/should-the-pag…

⚡️ Database Tip Deleting hundreds of thousands of rows is slow, impacts your performance and doesn't free the allocated disk space. But you can delete old data very efficiently if you partition your table by time ranges and drop one of them. sqlfordevs.com/partition-dele…

@hurrycane 2/2 When I asked it to write a somewhat complex (or rather novel) piece of code it always failed to do so correctly and I ended up spending A LOT of time cleaning the code up compared to the time I would need to write that from ground up.

@hurrycane 1/2 The only thing I found it to be good at, is autocompleting things like `foo_x = "barX"` with `foo_y = "barY"` and `foo_z = "barZ"` or formulating some basic function/class descriptions. But these give marginal productivity boost.

We're more than years into the making of AI coding assistants. Can we agree that #ai can't write code or at least that we're very far from that point?

Until then, keep calm and replace line 367 in file `wp-includes/Requests/src/Transport/Curl.php` with `if (!isset($headers['Connection'])) {` #diff-8987def65a17ccc44aa946873352a2cc1a2daeeefc3792cfe6b796e9d707b981L367" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">github.com/WordPress/Word…

@danpdev If your WordPress security approach is installing a plugin, then you are doing it wrong. Keep it simple, reduce the number of plugins/themes/dependencies on your website, and keep it up to date. Security is an ongoing effort, you can't just install a plugin and call it a day.
