Today's the day. When compared to Bluesky, I have 6 times the followers here but not one tenth the level of interaction. So I'm taking the first steps: 1. I'm deleting the bird app from my phone. 2. This will be my last post here unless I'm moved to reply to someone.

@MarkJCarney I expect a more nuanced approach to global affairs than "Israel can do no wrong." Did those missile attacks just comes out of the blue? Do better, sir.

But to my original gripe, @cbcgem, when I pay for an ad-free stream, why am I subjected to a 13-ad gauntlet to watch a news cast that doesn't allow me to watch from the beginning?

At every turn, CBC has worked to make it difficult to watch their signature newscast. You used to be able to catch the livestream on YouTube, "rewind" to the beginning and watch. No more. Now you're forced to jump onboard wherever the streaming broadcast has reached.

But to my original gripe, @cbcgem, when I pay for an ad-free stream, why am I subjected to a 13-ad gauntlet to watch a news cast that doesn't allow me to watch from the beginning?

I can't help but think that over the next 6 months, the conduct of this Trump administration will become the thing the world is talking about and Canadians are preoccupied with. I truly doubt this will be a Carbon Tax election.

@djbip1986 @prairiecentrist I'm spending less and less time here, and I expect soon that might be none. I too don't want to maintain multiple SM presences, but for me this is the one that's looking moribund. Obviously YMMV.

@djbip1986 @prairiecentrist Much has changed within the past few weeks. Before that, I might have agreed with you. But lately I've been experiencing easily quadruple the engagement on Bluesky despite having a small fraction of the followers I have here. Most journalists of note are on Bluesky.
