Chief Refereeing Officer Howard Webb explains why West Ham's goal against Arsenal was ruled out for a foul on David Raya.

They nearly gave them a pen instead😭😭

🚨 JUST IN: West Ham are set to contact referees’ body PGMOL after their late equaliser against Arsenal was disallowed. The club will raise concerns and request further clarification over the controversial decision. West Ham will also ask for the audio between referee Chris Kavanagh and VAR Darren England. [@BBCMOTD] More clubs need to follow this approach if the league genuinely wants to eliminate bias and deliberate inconsistency in refereeing decisions.

Everywhere you look you can see an Arsenal player committing a foul on a West Ham player, but VAR takes 5 minutes to spot a dubious infringement on an Arsenal player! That is literally match fixing btw.

Arguments against technology in football put to bed. An incident which has biggest impact ever on PL title and relegation. Firstly - ball over the line. Ref’s watch alerts. Then, despite the magnitude, VAR reaches correct decision. In the olden days… #whufc #thfc #afc #mcfc

If this was a foul on David Raya… Then what are Declan Rice and Leandro Trossard doing?! 🧐 You can’t compete for a header apparently, but you CAN rugby tackle opposition players, if you are wearing an Arsenal shirt 👍
