I recently did a playlist for someone of "songs that make you cry" and I'd like to expand it. Not necessarily sad songs, per se. I'm looking for personal responses, songs that, whatever they're doing, have the power to just reduce you to a puddle. Suggestions welcome.
We were incredibly sad to hear last week of the death of Dean Sullivan, known for his iconic performance as Jimmy Corkhill in Brookside.
With the blessing of his family, the episode we recorded with Dean and his long-time friend @triciapenrose will air this evening as planned.
British ways to say “we won’t eat here again”
- “It was okay”
- “It was interesting”
- “It wasn’t the best I’ve ever had”
- “It was certainly an experience”
- “The reviews were good”
- “It looked nice from the outside”
- “It wasn’t... great, was it?”
⁃ “I can see what they were trying to do”
- “Well you have to try these things”
- “I enjoyed the view”
- “I wasn’t sure what to make of it”
- “I think I chose the wrong thing”
- “Maybe they’ve changed the chef”
- Saying “thank you, that was lovely” to the waiter
@IanWright0 Happy birthday Wrighty! Had the pleasure of meeting you a few years ago and you were so humble and kind. I’ve been bragging about it ever since. Enjoy your day!
