A year ago today, I was on a psych ward. I was suicidal, and didn’t hold out much hope for the future A year on, out for a walk earlier, I couldn’t help but smile. It hasn’t been easy, but I’m so glad I stayed 😀 #WorldMentalHealthDay

Thank you to @OslerHealth for having me and sharing more about the Your Health Space, alongside @hardeepgrewal_ and @CamilleQu. This free workplace mental health program delivered by @CMHAOntario aims to support health care organizations in addressing staff psychological health.

Today, we welcomed @SylviaJonesMPP, @hardeepgrewal_ and @CMHAOntario to Brampton Civic to discuss Your Health Space, a mental health resource designed to support health care workers and promote workplace wellness. We also toured a number of different areas, including a respite room, the Stroke Unit and our Acute Care for the Elderly Unit – site of Osler’s world-first acute care hospital Accredited in the Butterfly Approach.

Thank you to Minister @sylviajonesmpp, MPP @hardeepgrewal_ and @oslerhealth for meeting with us to discuss the impact of our Your Health Space program. We’re immensely proud of the psychoeducation this program has been able to offer to health care workers across Ontario.

A pleasure to meet with @ONFireChiefs Executive Director Mark Tishman this morning to discuss psychological wellness for firefighters and our Resilient Minds program.

Happy to attend the #OnBudget speech today in legislature with our partners at @AMHOnt & @kidsmentalhlth and hear that the government is stabilizing our sector with a base funding commitment for community mental health and addictions care.

Congrats to @On_SocialWork on this important research on mental health in Ontario. This data illustrates the trends we are seeing in our work and the experiences of our branches. Great work!

Thanks @JohnTory for recognizing the need for increased funding for MHA care in Ontario. This crisis needs to be addressed by all levels of govt, as decades of underfunding & the increased need for service are having devastating impacts on how we can best support people in need.
