@johnanthonyr4 It’s a legit question. Everyone wants to complain but don’t actually look at the optics. Calafiori when fit and Hincapie have both been better than MLS at left back this year. They all played a fair amount at the start of the season and MLS was not as good = he lost minutes.

Let’s not forget also Toni Kroos whose very unathletic compared to many midfielders relatively speaking ran the show at the highest level for years. Are we going to argue now that the game would be too fast for him? Technique and IQ will always trump how fast you can run. Ideally you blend football intelligence with athleticism that’s the sweet spot.

I already warned the fanbase of this but if this season teaches you ANYTHING, let it teach you that Arteta will NEVER sign a player who has little OOP value. If they're willing to learn and have the physical abilities to, no problem, but any player who isn't hardworking OOP (pressing, falling back, marking communication, knowing your triggers, etc) will never come to Arsenal. So kill any ideas of a Vinicius or Leao joining our club. Perhaps (BIG perhaps) Leao can be humble enough to sit on the bench for multiple games as he learns the OOP (like Eze and Madueke are doing now), but Vinicius is not. Arteta is more into a Kvara-type winger than a Cherki-type winger. You can disagree with Arteta's preferences, and that's fine, but if you think a player will fit our system just because he's talented and you like him, you are out of your mind. Whenever scouting or talking about a player, think not only about how much you like the player, but how much Arteta will like the player for his system.
