A block by James Lindsay could indicate potential for recognizing a pandering sophist peddling his wares to the unwashed masses. Just saying.

A proposition that contains a contradiction cannot be instantiated in reality because reality cannot host contradictories. Thomas Aquinas states: “A contradiction cannot be true in reality, for what implies a contradiction cannot exist in rerum natura.” —ST I, q.25 a.3 So a contradictory proposition fails in both orders: It cannot even be conceived without self-negation. It cannot be realized in being. Thus a contradiction is not merely “unthinkable” but necessarily false.

@EveKeneinan It was a huge mistake to ever indulge the tyrannical speech police in their petty resentments. They need to be told to get bent every single time they attempt it. You are always a beacon of clarity and light, thank you Eve.

@hersinpersin @EveKeneinan Mankind already is, objecting to words because of their etymology is nothing but tyrannical petty resentment.

@EveKeneinan I've long been a firm advocate for revising "man" to be gender neutral. Men should include both women and hemen.

It's not enough to eventually win this debate after many years of fighting for the principles of evidence-based medicine in "gender-affirming care." We must fix the system that was able to severely limit reasonable dissent from appearing in the academic record.

📰A new Finnish study reports that youth gender transitions (under age 23) did not improve mental health symptoms. For some youth, medical gender reassignment may have had a negative impact. Link ⬇️ /1

People should absolutely involve themselves at the local and state level but let’s be clear, congress maintains a 90%+ incumbency rate while it’s popularity is in the single digits Those numbers aren’t explained by apathy, the system is rigged to produce this result
Nick Freitas@NickJFreitas

The biggest problem the right has, is venting their frustration with Republicans in the general election instead of the primaries. The result is the "the parties are the same" crowd stays home. Democrats get into power, we re-learn that the parties are not the same, but the Republican establishment is put back into power. Cycle repeats.

The Unsurpassable Being (The Greatest Conceivable being) must be Mind: Major Premise: The ultimate foundation of reality (the "necessary being") must be a positive, self-identical entity capable of registering value and accounting for all forms. Minor Premise: "Matter" lacks positive meaning abstract from its forms and cannot register value, whereas "Mind" is an infinitely flexible correlate capable of knowing, feeling, and maintaining identity through all forms. Conclusion: Therefore, the ultimate foundation of reality (the "necessary being") must be Mind, not Matter.

@camwg86 @Danish_SMF Who is doing that? When our universe reaches maximum entropy, that is precisely what will exist: a quantum vacuum. Energy so dispersed that it won't be able to do any work. A quantum vacuum has vacuum energy and vacuum fluctuations, which can spawn another universe. Like ours was

@MartinTweats @AleMartnezR1 Oh and my father never thought I was slow. He enjoyed playing Socrates while I was trapped in the car with him on long drives. A sometimes very annoying experience that I now miss.

@camwg86 @Danish_SMF There was never nothing in the first place. Do you have difficulty with reading comprehension? Nothingness is an impossibility, metaphysically, philosophically and scientifically. Now refute my dragon, prove he didn't fart the universe into existence.

@MartinTweats @AleMartnezR1 On the spectrum myself, also mildly dyslexic. Everyone thought I was a bit of a moron until I got tested when applying to the military. Everyone one was standing around staring at me. Thought it was because of how poorly I'd done lol.

@matsciguycanada @Danish_SMF You have yet to establish the universe can come from nothing all on its own. A quantum vacuum isn't nothing, and the BGV theorem is still in play according to Vilenkin himself article you posted. Are you abandoning your claim?

@camwg86 @Danish_SMF Now provide evidence that magically speaking the universe into existence is possible. And eliminate the possibility that a maximally perfect invisible dragon didn't fart the universe into existence from outside of space and time. Go for it.
