A vegetation fire broke out near the cemetery in Montenach and quickly spread to the nearby Saint-Cyriaque church. Within minutes, the flames caused major damage, destroying the roof structure and leading to the collapse of the bell tower.
Around 60 firefighters and 40 vehicles were deployed to control the blaze. Despite the destruction, they managed to save most of the church’s valuables, and no injuries were reported.
