Texas didn’t even get to vote on it. Nor did North Carolina and Missouri.
Democracy.

51% of voters can take away 100% of the rights of 49% of the voters. Democracy.

Explain to me how Texas didn’t even get to vote on it
Meghan McCain@MeghanMcCain
How is it "defending democracy" when you're cutting up a state to rig elections so poor people and republicans voices don't count? This is literally the kind of thing that starts civil wars - EXPLAIN TO ME HOW IT IS "DEFENDING DEMOCRACY"?!?

@mtgreenee The fact that Texas, North Carolina, Missouri plowed ahead and gerrymandered without giving their citizens a chance to vote on it, but California and Virginia let their citizens vote, is the difference right now between republicans and democrats.

Virginia is now going to redraw their district maps from 6D-5R to 10D-1R after voters voted YES to allow it to happen.
Many people are blaming the Republican consultants that constantly bombard you begging for money for the Republican Party. They didn’t spend in Virginia to even put up a fight to stop it from happening.
However, that’s not the only reason it happened. It’s the absolute failures of Republicans to pass the agenda that the American people voted for in 2024 and it’s the complete and total campaign betrayals by President Trump of him going to war and Iran and fighting the release of the Epstein files and protecting the elite pedophiles.
There’s no amount of money that can be spent to lie to voters and get them to come back and vote for a Republicans right now.
If Trump and Republicans had delivered what they promised, this would be different.

@Fwd_Party Honeychild, we gotta fight fire with fire now. If Texas, NC, Missouri, etc hadn’t gone and pulled the shit they did, we wouldn’t have done it this way. Plus we let the people decide … unlike those other states.

We are disappointed Virginia voters approved a mid-decade redistricting change that moves the state away from the independent commission they chose just a few years ago. That system was designed to take map-drawing out of politicians’ hands and give voters a fairer, more transparent process. When politicians draw their own districts, they can choose their voters, creating safe seats where outcomes are often decided before Election Day and accountability to voters is set aside for accountability to party bosses and special interests. The Forward Party will continue to oppose partisan gerrymandering, supporting independent redistricting commissions, and championing fair rules that give voters real choices.

Move to WV if you want shitty healthcare and live in a coal polluted food desert.

How many rural Virginians are looking at Zillow to see where we all go next. VA will be the latest to drive away those who can leave. Gov of West VA should pay moving expenses and abate taxes for 3 years for those who own guns, have taxable income and want their vote to count
