@PianoBGMmaker Thank you so much for identifying the software! I was going crazy trying to figure out what it was. (Best guess was a visualizer for FL Studio.) This morning I even started the process of programming it myself. Many thanks.

Artist friend Jeffrey Ventrella has been making mathematical animations observing and honoring Earth Day for 11 years. I composed the music for this latest one. youtube.com/watch?v=A5aZN1…

After four straight weeks of digitizing cassettes, I'm pleased to release this memorial archive of the mix tapes made by Stephen Miller of Santa Fe (AKA MKZDK) who passed away in July 2018. cantonbecker.com/mkzdk

@ProfBuehlerMIT Can we hear loads more? I'm happy with just loads of MIDI files or whatever, no need to render fancy eye catching videos. I'd just like to hear if it tweaks my ears good. More more more please.

Bio-inspired swarm intelligence for AI music composition: MusicSwarm instantiates many identical, frozen foundation-model agents that coordinate only via peer-to-peer feedback and pheromone-like signals. Without any weight updates, these agents spontaneously self-organize into differentiated roles and produce compositions with higher local novelty, richer rhythmic diversity, and more human-like small-world structure than centrally critiqued multi-agent or single-shot baselines. We observe swarm dynamics that converge toward Nash-like equilibria in the space of agent behaviors, while the continual emergence of new motifs and long-range links realizes a Gödelian perspective: interacting agents plus a shared external world model behave as a meta-system whose creative trajectories go beyond those of any single, monolithic model.

@piterpasma The psytrance generator is wicked! And you beat me to making an amen breaker, I'd been considering this myself. If you look through pisongs.com most of the works are really long. A collaborative angle might be long compositions. canton@gmail.com

@canton have you seen
piterpasma.nl/psygen/
and this one
piterpasma.nl/gen28/ (warning, bit loud)
also
pp-webaudio-beats.netlify.app/beat/ (drum sounds also randomized, might need to refresh a few times to get nice ones)
the gen28 one uses a sample obviously, the other two don't

bunch of people have asked me to set this to music, so I asked Suno AI to recite my WebGL shader setup code, and it's even almost kinda sorta in sync here and there (it was hard, with the frame rate and video recording, and external mp3 player) #glsl #shaders #webgl2hop

@piterpasma Oh I'd absolutely be on the music side. I've been making algorithmic music for 30 years but I'm rubbish at visuals.
English

@canton I find collaboration quite hard usually, but I'm always up for discussing techniques and ideas! :-) which side would you be contributing? as I do both audio and visual stuff (if you look at my recent posts you'll find me working on a TB-303 emulator)

(Sound on!) Coming soon, another collaboration between myself and @jjventrella Jeffrey Ventrella, OG pioneer of artificial life simulations.

@_deafbeef @ToledoMuseum @juliaxgulia Fffffing exquisite. I love the cube display as well as the begging to be touched control panel. How loud is it? Is there a sub?

Announcing Glitchbox, the sculpture. SOUND ON 🔊
Premiering July 12 at @ToledoMuseum in
Infinite Images: The Art of Algorithms, curated by @juliaxgulia
Glitchbox began in 2021 as an early programmable NFT: a generative audiovisual system with parameters modifiable via on-chain transactions.
Through an arduous transformation, at the cost of sweat and sanity, Glitchbox now takes a corporeal form of forged iron and electronics.
A fully interactive audiovisual synthesizer, inviting audience members to touch and manipulate tactile controls in a real-time sensory experience.
Glitchbox has many facets (some would say six) thematically that I'll try to get into over time: labour, craft, generative systems as cybernetic systems existing beyond purely digital/virtual as embodied sensual experiences, and the significance of these themes in an era of generative AI.

@piterpasma They all haul their lasers and computers to smoke filled conference rooms and play coordinated techno songs while pushing their projectors to absolute limits, finding new ways to make designs without causing the motors and mirrors to explode.

@piterpasma Superb example. Canon! 1) lex's recent interview with DHH begins with a really touching and well told story about being a kid in the European demo scene. 2) the demo scene is alive and thriving ... Within the laser projection community:

@toiminto Too early to listen to this just yet but scanned thru and sounds great. Visuals might obviate need for coffee altogether today 😂

@jperla I was turntable.fm's #1 fan so when you relaunched Hangout, I was first in line. I've been running rooms for whole days straight, inviting some of my friends from the old days. Crickets. Why do you think it's a graveyard there? Is the moment totally gone, or what?

@lexfridman @MrBeast How do you come up with your shenanigans? How many ideas are discarded before you pick one? Who else contributes ideas? How many ideas do you go through before you pick one? Is anyone else on your team a better judge of which ideas will work than yourself?

I'm talking to @MrBeast on podcast soon. Let me know if you have any questions / topics suggestions. This will be a fun one!
