the Tyne and Wear Metro is so good and it's completely ridiculous that every big city in the UK doesn't have its own version

Returned home. Recycling not emptied! Called @DorsetCouncilUK & told the recycling was ‘contaminated with food waste.’ Examined the bin. Are we supposed to wash a cardboard carton then? Ridiculous bureaucracy. #jobsworth

#Scream7 REVIEW: Oh. My. God. As someone that enjoyed Scream 5 and loved Scream 6, I was VERY nervous about Kevin Williamson taking over the helm from Radio Silence (and Ramsey Nickell as cinematographer). However, from the moment the movie opened, Kevin, Ramsey, and Beltrami created an atmosphere I hadn't felt since Scream 2/3. Aside from some very questionable fight scene editing and a rough CGI shot, the opening (and honestly the entire first act) was damn near perfection (and my 2nd favorite opening after Scream 2). Isabel May and Joel McHale are standouts in the roles of Sidney's daughter Tatum and her husband Mark respectively. Their chemistry feels natural and Joel ditches the annoying douchebag typecast to play a genuinely loving husband who will do anything to protect his family. Sam Rechner's Ben Brown also has good chem with Tatum, especially in the first act. The dialogue (while still not at the levels of OG Scream films) is a definite improvement over the last two Scream films. There are still some cringey lines and some poor decisions, but the conversations are more natural and less exposition dumping. The mystery also feels relevant again and less like an afterthought. The humor in the movie was a huge surprise. It definitely feels like Scream 3 in that sense. Courteney Cox and Matthew Lillard are especially funny and have some hilarious line deliveries (Neve too). The kills, while sometimes silly, are incredible. The CGI was sometimes excessive, but the creativity was fun to see. McKenna Grace gets to shine in a standout moment 🧚. I also want to add that the Ghostface in this movie is exactly what I've been wanting since the Scream 4 deleted opening. The lurking, the creativity, the movement... everything. Going into the negatives, I have to talk about the third act. While there is definitely a standout killer performance, the way it all plays out is underwhelming, short, and almost nonsensical. The reveals themselves are hardly set up at all, and the motive—while it had potential—is undercooked. Chad and Mindy also feel underutilized in the bar sequence, which feels out of character, especially for Chad. The new friend group is also hardly developed (which seems to be a reoccurring theme with the last 3 films). The movie also could've used a little more meta commentary, which was also lacking in Scream 6. Overall, I fucking loved it. It really felt like a Scream movie again, which is partially thanks to a bigger focus on the mystery (despite the bad payoff) and Beltrami's return as composer. Scream 5 and 6 are still great, but they don't have the vibe that the OG films did, and this one returned to that vibe. I'll post an updated ranking soon, but it's definitely up there as one of my favorites (we'll see where it ends up after a couple rewatches this weekend). I think Scream 8 definitely needs to ease up on the returning characters, and focus more on developing new ones that people can get attached to. Sorry for the long review lol but thanks if you read through it.
