@claseclosed The only way they’re getting to that conclusion is from comparing the weird bushwick people to the weird anglo montrealers

@Swiiika_ Japan is so far ahead from the rest of the world it's crazy. Why show affection for someone you just met?

I went on a few dates while i’ve in Japan for the last few months. ✍️🇯🇵 Japanese dating is WAY different than I'd have thought. Here's some of the things i thought were the most interesting about my experience in Japan's dating scene. I'll probably delete this after a bit since i don't go posting a ton about my dating life, but you might find this interesting I lived in kyushu from 2018-2020 and got pretty decent at the language. (I probably have a grade-schoolers speaking and reading level.) Since then I've been visiting yearly to catch up with friends and keep up the language. I made a bumble account after my friend who lives in Ueno said I should give it a shot. The day after I installed I got quite a few matches. Interesting thing is that almost ALL profiles on bumble didn't have the name of the people on them. People would typically put cute nicknames or random words like ame/candy or kuma/bear. Some profiles didn't even have a photo of the user on it. This is apparently pretty normal on Bumble/Tinder, but hinge seemed pretty standard. I didn't really mind this since it adds a layer of safety and can prevent issues like stalking, however for me I would at the very least like to see a picture of the person, so I swiped right mostly on those. The Dates: I Ended up taking one girl out who lived a few train stops away from me. I planned the whole date based off of what we chatted about before hand. Since we both like art, I started off by taking her to an art exhibition since one of our favorite museums was having an anniversary. After that we did sushi at a spot my friend in Saitama recommended. Since we were having a great time we decided to go rent out a karaoke room. The date itself was a whole story in itself that i'll probably break down a different time, but after that we ended the night at an arcade before heading home. The BIGGEST difference I've noticed about Japanese dating is the following: In Japan, people do NOT typically show affection in public at all. While we walked around I offered her my arm to hold as we wandered, but even this seemed like a big step for her. Even at the end of the date when we were really feeling each other, something small like holding hands felt like overstepping. The next day when we split I walked her out, she looked both ways to ensure nobody else was nearby, then gave me a small kiss before she left, instantly walking away. It was cute, but really showed how different things are there. Overall, it was a great experience! Comparing the pace of dating in other places like Korea or the US it was a big big difference. I'll break down the whole dates in themselves soon.

Did anyone else in high school also have the most obvious pyramid scheme taking place that the dumbest humans you know partook in? I think ours was an energy drink called verve? Am I the only one
