We are excited and proud that our portfolio company @CapableLabs just emerged from stealth. We first backed @isaakfreeman and @helenarose in their very first funding round when Capable was still primarily a vision. From the beginning, it was clear they were building with the ambition and mission-focus that generational companies require. Today, Capable is using frontier AI with the aim to develop therapeutics that expand what humans are capable of, starting with sleep: first by restoring cognitive performance under sleep deprivation, then helping patients meaningfully reduce how much sleep they need while preserving the health benefits of a full night's rest. Just over a year since inception, the team has already generated promising preclinical data and aims to begin its first Phase 1 trial by next year. Underneath it all is the platform. Capable is building an in-house, vertically integrated, AI-enabled drug discovery engine that collapses peptide research, synthesis, quality control, and cell and mouse testing into a 24-hour cycle (versus the four-plus weeks typical of contract research organizations). Every cycle generates proprietary data that trains the next iteration of their AI models. We are proud to have partnered with Isaak and Helena from the beginning.
