Buffalo Bills day 2 training camp notes -Coverage has routinely reduced air space for the pass game in both man and zone. Choking routes, reading route distributions, showing spatial awareness, squeezing windows, and clamping down. -More match principles in the Bills defense. Especially from the safeties. And having two safeties like CJ Gardner-Johnson & Cole Bishop gives the Bills the athleticism there to fluidly operate this way in both single & two high coverage structures -CJ Gardner-Johnson has been the best Bills defender. Getting players set, making adjustments, coaching players, fitting the run, and making plays in coverage + being sound -An uptick for in-breakers in the Bills route distributions -Deep shots from the Bills offense today. Several reps had WRs getting past/over the top of the defense but balls were over or under thrown -Jackson Hawes looks a little lighter/trimmer and is moving more fluidly -Kaleb Elarms-Orr has an inside track to start with the injuries and inactivity for Bernard & Williams. Also, Keonta Jenkins has made several plays in coverage as Orr’s running mate at LB -Jim Leonhard continues to be hands on with the DBs and regularly active in conversations with CBs coach Jay Valai -Lot of play action from the Bills offense today, with several leading to chunk plays/shot attempts

Michael Hoecht is participating in 11 on 11.
