The real fans know any team that qualifies out of Europe will be quality.
I personally think Italy would have been an easier opponent, as they don’t respect opponents. Look at their last 20 years.

And came last.
And then was eliminated by Costa Rica in 2014.
And then taken out in playoffs by Sweden, Macedonia and Bosnia.

@herculezg If there was one top team in the group, you’d look at Paraguay, Australia and Turkey as the easy games. Only because there’s no one good makes you think they’re all decent

Thoughts on Italy failing to qualify:
1) 48 team World Cup was supposed to prevent this. Already too many minnows at this tournament. Even a mediocre Italy would have made it better
2) Toronto is a loser here. Italian community storyline, gone. Significant economic impact. 1/2
