Bear is the real villain of Obsession. Curry Barker tricked everyone into feeling bad for this lonely, grieving guy, but his entire character is a masterclass in pathetic cowardice. Using the One Wish Willow was pure entitlement. He couldn't handle rejection, so he forced a girl’s entire identity to be wiped clean just to validate his ego. Look at how he acts when Nikki starts glitching and breaking down. He doesn't care about her safety; he’s just annoyed his new toy is malfunctioning. He never tries to save her from the curse. He just wants to tweak the rules to make his own life easier. When things turn hyper-violent, his passivity becomes disgusting. He sits back and lets his entire friend group get brutally dismantled because he’s too weak to let go of his manufactured fantasy. By the end, he’s a willing hostage to his own ego, staring right through a mutilated girl just to chase a ghost. Nikki’s physical transformation is insane, but Bear’s emotional parasitism is the real rot of this film. #Obsession

#Obsession works because the real horror isn't the wish it's Bear. He had someone who genuinely cared about him, but instead of risking rejection, he chose control. That's what makes the film so disturbing. It's a story about insecurity, entitlement, and what happens when someone values being loved more than another person's freedom. Do you think Bear was always this selfish, or did the wish bring out the worst in him?
