If you want to understand why people get furious with officials, just watch the “flagrant” call in the NCAA D2 game.
A guy steals the ball - nothing even close to flagrant. They go to review… and still get it wrong.
Then they double down, confidently and arrogantly explaining why it was flagrant.
That’s the problem.

I love Hurley’s offense. Win or lose no one runs better set plays to get their best players the most shots. Coincidence or perhaps the reason his teams do so well in NCAA tourney? Combination of open flow offense with old school set plays.

Ya know if schools just enforced acadmeic requirements to transfer schools a lot of this would go away. If athletes want to move like regular students, then treat them like regular students.

Duke had 10 seconds to dribble out the clock. Boozer panicked and passed it to his brother. He could have held it and drew a foul but he made a poor decision. Where was the Duke coach? Was he ready to call a timeout? The Boozers are great professional players but they’re 18!

Respectfully @SethDavisHoops you are incorrect. Press break is perfectly executed with Spacing is solid. If the other two are in the back court, it allows rotations for a steal on the pass to Cayden. Boozer dribbles for no reason, kills his dribble & turns it over. Catch, face up, fake a pass/make a pass/eat it & make FTs/welcome the double & dribble out. All good options. Instead he dribbles, panics & a great deflection turns him over

Yes, Cayden Boozer should not have attempted the pass. But the problem was more in the execution than the decision. Duke had two players downcourt and well past the defense. All he has to do is get it past the defenders and it's game over. And it still took a 35 footer for UConn to win. The thrill of victory, the agony of defeat.

All true. No exaggeration. And yet when walking back from the NYC demonstation yesterday we encountered a nice-looking man in Central Park walking with his young daughter. She wanted to read my wife's sign headlined "No Kings" but he dragged her away, saying emphatically, "We support Trump."
I would love to have asked him why, but he was gone.

It is difficult to imagine any US leader who could cause more harm to US foreign policy than Trump: 1. Since he lies all the time, he has wasted all US credibility. 2. Since he pursues trade wars against all purported allies, he is in war with all allies. 3. Since he has started a madcap war against Iran without asking anybody but Israel, he has caused many allies to be attacked for no cause of their own. Conclusions: 1. The US is unable to be an ally of anybody as long as Trump remains US president. 2. Thus, all US "alliances" have lost content. 3. All countries with US bases need to reconsider: Aren't these bases a reason for attack on us, while offering no defense or even consultation. 4. Trump has destroyed the whole US security architecture of the last 80 years out of either stupidity or treason. The cost to the US will be horrendous.

@captainDHo @BelkReport Yes, like there are eligibility requirements for regular students to have to pass so they stay off probation. However, what does that have to do with transferring? Your GPA "starts over" when you transfer schools. Since all your credits don't come with you

Decent players are making 6 figures. Good for them, they deserve to get a piece of the pie. That said, we don’t have to pretend anymore that it’s unfair to expect them sit out when transferring. Unlimited movement is bad for the sport.

@captainDHo @BelkReport When all students transfer not all of their credits transfer. That doesn't mean they're not allowed to be a college student anymore. It just means they have to take longer to finish. They can still participate in every single college activity. Why is it different??

@iknowsport91355 @BelkReport Well the point is regular students don’t have to adhere to eligibility standards to compete like student athletes. My question is how are they meeting these eligibility standards when all credits from one school don’t transfer and should be limiting their participation

@captainDHo @BelkReport It doesn't matter if my followers agree. This is how the Supreme Court and multiple courts across the country view it. It's either their employees or their students. And they have rights depending on what you classify them as. You can't have it both ways

@captainDHo @BelkReport They aren't professionals. Player student athlete. Student can transfer, don't sit out of class or activity. Player student before athlete. They are afforded same thing as student.
