Kingston Flemings is nowhere close to being the best point guard in this class He’s a role player. There’s nothing wrong with that but he’s an underwhelming shot creator and average playmaker.

@NLHTrainer @joelvmoran He could stay. Get better. Get stronger. Help UH finally make the leap and lead a team that cuts down the nets. He has potential. He just isn't ready now. But you are right-work ethic is not an issue.

@NLHTrainer @joelvmoran Great kid. Not ready for NBA. Freezes with the ball in his hands too much, and reacts slowly to switches against elite defenders.

@CallingaSitDown @joelvmoran Russell Westbrook averaged 4 assists as a college sophmore, Kingston averaged 5 as a frosh...If you know the kid's character and work ethic, ya know he'll be fine. Has some Derrick White intangibles that I like too. A winner.

@NLHTrainer @joelvmoran He is not a playmaker. At best he is Brandon Knight. There might be a slight chance he gets to be as good of a scorer as Sleepy Floyd.

Finally watched the full game from yesterday.. this team would probably have 50 wins right now with a legit point guard.. most the leads are lost because of ball pressure in high leverage moments on players who shouldn’t be initiating offense.. the Wolves went on that 13-0 run mostly off turnovers.. and how many times have we seen that this year late in games.. the defensive mistakes are insane and coming from everyone.. Reed Sheppard has been a liability on defense and half the roster a liability on offense lol. We lack toughness I actually really miss Fred, Stevo and Dillon.. without them we are a soft team

You shouldn’t worry about explosiveness when you’re dealing with a tall and skilled PG. People missed this lesson with Haliburton. Folks shouldn’t make the same mistake with Wagler.

I can see the Hornets upsetting someone in the first round They are that good. Them and Philly (getting healthy) are both dangerous

@Biggz_91 If only folks on this app would this logically like this.. its never about his court play, you're right! and when it is, he's being judged at ridiculous unrealistic standards as a 37yr old, no other OG is being talked about like that... I guess that tells us all....

biggz cares if don’t nobody else care.
My problem with the KD Houston talk is it don’t be on the hardwood talk like his turnovers should be talked about him missing FT’s I don’t care if he’s moody 90’s of the time his production is up to par. When you talk off the court things it takes away from wtf is the play like

@ANTHONY_WhatIf @Biggz_91 Because INTANGIBLES MATTER....especially on a young, impressionable team...Alpi jumps out on a hedge late in the game, gets on the floor for a loose ball causing shot clock violation, great hustle lay. KD is right next to hm, doesn't pick him up off the floor..That's corny shit

@Biggz_91 I've always said I'm for criticisms of his game as I am for any player/ all time great. The problem is, as you said & I've said before, much of the talk has nothing to do about his game & this is when we have to check folks who want to talk nonsense just to hear themselves talk!

My eyes don’t lie — this is the best Charlotte Hornets team I’ve ever seen. The standard of execution is so high. Good effort every possession, battle well physically, fully connected, completely unselfish, and loaded with skill. They’re legit.

If Ben McCollum & Curt Cignetti can’t convince AD’s that it’s a smart idea to give super successful D2/D3 coaches a shot idk what ever will. Real time proof that coaching and culture matters, even in the NIL era. Sure, hire a famous pro to recruit. How’s that worked out?

@BradeauxNBA @BinkleyHoops @SleeperRockets @MittyData . To me, this has been an issue bringing KD on, & I'm a huge KD fan. The intangibles, aside from working hard at his craft aren't there consistently to take team to another level. Moody older star +young squad= chem issues
Coach AJ 🎯 Mental Fitness@coachajkings

Ben McCollum shares what it feels like to be around first-place people and a first-place culture. "I went to Northwest Missouri State, and my first practice with Steve Tapmeyer - best coach I've ever been around - I sat there and I'm like, 'This is what first place feels like. This is what a first-place culture feels like. This is what first-place people feel like.'" That was the wake-up call. He realized what first-place people have: "They've got an extreme work ethic. They've got an edge to 'em that other people don't - a competitive spirit." Then he quoted John Thompson: "You can tame a fool a lot quicker than you can resurrect a corpse...We want guys with a little edge to 'em." You can coach skills, but you can't coach competitive spirit. You don't want to consistently coach their effort and attitude. The last thing they look for: Energy givers. "Over the years, we found that guys that are moody don't make it in our program." "If you're moody, if you have low energy, if you suck the life out of the building - you don't make it." Talent isn't enough. Your energy matters. Your attitude matters. Successful people have a competitive edge, they bring energy, and they look to consistently get better. They raise the standard through what they do. (🎥 Watts Happening Podcast)

Ben McCollum knows that to change your team - it starts with the people and the culture. • 4 national titles at Northwest Missouri State. • Drake's first NCAA win in 50 years. Now Iowa's first Sweet 16 in 27 years. Here's how he builds culture: (📌Bookmark this)

@ringer @BillSimmons Hard truth: this team lacks hierarchy. It can't just be 'Ime’s team'—players win games. Without a clear star and defined roles, everyone is just hunting stats and max deals. There’s no chemistry when the boundaries are this blurry. The issue: coaching and management
