NEW updates for the harry potter attraction at epic universe as the permits go thru the review process! The square footage has been revised from 150,000 square feet to 95,748 square feet and the attraction is now two stories

@LiamFromOrlando @Bentleys_Enigma My understanding by talking to a few people is that they were focusing on getting the park open, then park operations getting ironed out before doing the show.

@capthemagic @Bentleys_Enigma It’s shocking to me it’s taking them this long to get everything set up and that they had to do some fairly substantial retrofits for the show tech idk why it wasn’t ready to go day one

@RaphaelDeVarona @ThemeParkJJ Agreed. I did ask about it and apparently it’s due to a rights issue streaming the music in the pool. So they worked out a deal to do it in the rooms and some other areas but not the pool.

Going to check out the Celestial Goodnight fireworks by the pool. We didn’t have plans to do Epic during our stay and team members said the fireworks are best by the pool or from our room we could see the fountain portion. So chose fireworks over the fountain

@ThemeParkJJ I know it was piped into the rooms and Bar Helios but they had the movie by the pool playing during the fireworks show… which nobody was watching nor could hear 🤣

@ParkObsession @UniNewsToday I’ve always felt the parks becoming so IP heavy is due somewhat to “laziness” in that to do original stuff it’s a lot more work to get that to catch on and IPs have built in appeal

But culture isn’t the only factor. It’s marketing and willingness to go out of the IP comfort zone. Captain Cacao can be massive, but he needs more depth, stronger park presence, high quality merch, friends and social media push. We shall see what happens but ultimately I’d like to see these companies take more risks here in the states and push hard with them.
