James Van Der Beek just passed from colorectal cancer, which has the second highest treatment cost of any cancer. Last year he auctioned off memorabilia from his tv and film career in order to pay for the staggering costs of his treatment
His family is now left to deal with the burden of his passing, both emotionally and financially.
US health care is THE most expensive globally and medical debt is still the number one reason for personal bankruptcy in this country. Millions of Americans (which include successful 90s television actors) are struggling every day under this for profit system that is designed to continuously reap enormous profits for the multi billion dollar companies within it. James’ family should not have to worry about staying financially afloat as they mourn his loss, just as no family or individual should face the reality of being one medical emergency away from losing everything.

Four years ago, I found out I had stage 3 cancer. I made a list of the reasons I was going to live. On that very short list was Oasis could reunite, and I had to be there when they did. Well, we all made it and we’re all here together. #oasislive25

@careycam 👌exactly 1 year ago I tried my hardest to get tickets for me and my family, the next day I was taken to hospital and diagnosed with not one but 2 brain tumours, surgery followed but I have been left with Stage 3 Brain cancer. Next year will be 30 years since Loch Lomond, I 🙏
