Because light is invisible unless it hits something and reflects into your eyes. The reason why the earth looks bright is because sunlight hits air molecules, dust & water vapor making the sky appear light blue

My boomer grandfather sold land and left Embu for a remote Kirinyaga town called Wang’uru. There, he blew two million with two old concubines he’d met back in the 70s. Turns out he’d been fantasizing about them for 30 years after a Muthunguci party hosted by Kamaru at a River Road bar. The man never owned a cellphone in his life. To this day, nobody knows how he tracked them down.
