@tacertain AWS has lots of customers who use it in lots of different ways. Even small problems can get high visibility. Also AWS is growing rapidly, at least when I was there. You had a lot of work just to maintain 'steady state.' I suspect lots can fail at twitter silently.

While I stand by this tweet, I'm also remembering how in 1999 Amazon lost all but one of its network engineers and we got through it. It's never a good idea to bet against human ingenuity and perseverance. But boy do I fear for this industry if everything goes swimmingly.

@Steinernomics Word that ¾ of the remaining Twitter employees have elected to take severance. I don't agree with all the stuff here, but I know that if any service team in AWS lost over 80% of their folks in the span of a week, things would eventually stop working. twitter.com/MosquitoCapita…

@masson_graeme There’s a good Parkinson’s community over on TikTok

I will be heartbroken if Twitter dies and I lose access to the #Parkinsons community. I wanted to do a quick vid to express how much you have all meant to me. The vid falls way short of the mark in terms of expressing my love for you. At least I didn’t swear this time!

@Beyond2Parties @colmmacc @atreyas @wcs1only I hate to make the appeal to authority fallacy, but you are arguing with the wrong dude on this

I've just discovered the work of @davetroy. His take on Musk's takeover of Twitter is well-researched, completely at odds with conventional assumptions, and deeply alarming: davetroy.medium.com/no-elon-and-ja… Troy's other perspectives on geopolitics and disinformation are also eye-opening.
