@effoff1988 The only reason OBAA lost money is because of its budget. Otherwise it's the 2nd highest grossing Best Picture winner of the decade only behind Oppenheimer. 200M for an original is a lot of money in the post-covid world. It's the type of movie that used to make 400 pre-pandemic

Two things can be true. 1. OBAA was loved so Oscar voters made an exception and gave it BP even though they have never done that for a film that lost a lot of money. 2. No woman or director of colour would ever get BP+BD nods let alone wins for a film that lost a lot of money.

@ScottDMenzel strange situation... the wave came too late especially for a movie that came out a year ago, the question is why SINNERS doesn't win at Globe or PGA? I think people have been thinking for months that OBAA was simply better

I wish people were supporting Sinners like this months ago. I want to jump on the bandwagon, but it feels like the wave came too late. And this is coming from someone who thinks One Battle After Another overrated and was always rooting for Sinners. I hope I’m wrong here.

Variety vergognoso non ha mai fatto campagna per Sinners ne hanno quasi sempre parlato in termini non da contender e ora per fare i fighi tolgono dal pronostico certo PTA quando davvero se non vince regia veramente la fanno fuori dal vaso come credibilità peggio che con EEAAO

People should realize that MARTY SUPREME getting 0 Oscar wins is actually the most poetic ending it could have given how the movie itself ends for Marty Mauser.

@MendezMovieRPT Another reason that Sinners fans might underestimate is that European, South American and global voters put PTA best director and OBAO n.1 n.2 or 3 best picture

1. A voter who actually spreads the love on their ballot! 2. Very early into anonymous ballots tallies but I'm noticing PTA seems like the likelier pick for Director among those who don't have OBAA/Sinners as their #1. If there's a Picture/Director split that'd be why.

@ByClaytonDavis true, but you are neglecting the impact that European, South American and I would say global votes can have in favor of OBAA which is a much more beloved than Sinners outside the US
