So digital ID is allegedly to check migrants right to be in the UK. We already have mandatory Government Right to Work and Right to Rent checks. So why do we need this?
@supertanskiii His voice isn't great but it's a brilliant set. The blondes in mini dresses. Natch. The musicians are outstanding. You can't deny he ain't bad for an octogenarian.
Supporting fascists is one thing but this performance by Rod Stewart is objectively fucking terrible. Off key and tired. The front row are boomers.
My grandad doing pissed karaoke would be better. In fact, I think that actually IS my grandad doing pissed karaoke…

@DisneySucksPole@EC4faith@peryskop3@iamtomskinner Housing is a public need. Buying up properties for the purpose of letting them out or selling them on at a mark up relies on house prices continuously growing which isn't good for renters and it's not good for first time buyers. It's parasite behaviour.
A very good pal of mine who is a serious player in the London property game. just told me he’s struggling to sell flats in Central and West London. We’re talking prime locations that used to fly off the market. Now? Nothing. He reckons the prices have collapsed and it’s only going one way…. down. And it is only gonna get worse. Why? Years of inflated prices driven by overseas investors, not real working Brits. And now, people just don’t want to live in London anymore. Why would they? Crime’s through the roof, the streets aren’t safe, and working families are being pushed out while the city gets run into the ground. This is what happens when you let short-term politics and weak leadership ruin a great city. London was the absolute governor and should be the pride of Britain, but right now, it’s broken. What’s everyone else seeing out there? Is it the same in your area? Has London lost it? Bosh❤️
@CliveEley@NG26731@alexarmstrong They may have saved for years to accrue that much. Or be widowed. Or inherited it and counting on it for their retirement, and still working to get by until then.
This would be an UNMITIGATED disaster.
Cutting ISA’s tax limits to £4k from £20k will be the final straw not only for the wealthy who are fleeing the UK, but also for “working people” they bang on about
This would be incredibly stupid and further expand the damage they’ve caused to the economy.
This is truly sick.
Lucy Connolly, the wife of a Tory councillor, has been jailed for TWO AND A HALF YEARS for an inappropriate post on X after the Southport Massacre.
She was devastated because her own 19-month son had been killed by NHS neglect.
SHE IS A POLITICAL PRISONER.
@fesshole You are presuming every landlord is also rich and greedy. Some people on an income far less than an electrician, inherit a modest property and rent it out to supplement their income.
I'm an electrician, and I carry out electrical inspections of rental properties. I code faults on these properties very harshly, I want people hoarding houses to pay through the nose because my children are being priced out of home ownership in the city they grew up in
@Jonny_artist Agree with everyone else. And, your're all coming together because it's the last thing you'll do for your relative. No need to feel even slightly guilty.
Just booked two nights away for a family funeral.
Feeling slightly guilty about the fact I'm looking forward to seeing loved ones and afterwards maybe having a few laughs and a few beers.
