@TMFScottP See: UK / Reform People are realizing that the best way to move the Overton window is to vote outside of it. I'd argue that a lot of voters haven't been running towards the 2 major parties in the past. More of a "I dislike them less".

This perfectly outlines the *recent* rise of One Nation. They're not the same things that had it trailing for decades. It's an abandonment of the establishment (and also to the Greens on the left). People are running away from the majors, not running towards One Nation.

While UK Labor collapses the UK Greens are fighting back and winning. Decency, a belief that people want to be part of a good society that fairly shares the wealth, is how you fight the hard-right anti-immigration politics that threatens Australia too

You have nothing to fear from Zack Polanski. His positions are absurd and will be roundly rejected by sensible people.

Following news of Fed Square's decision to no longer show Socceroos World Cup matches live, Melbourne Arts Precinct Director & CEO Katrina Sedgwick has provided a statement on the decision to 10 News. Sedgwick added "there will be plenty of other places [in Melbourne] getting into the World Cup spirit, and we encourage football fans to check out what’s on in venues across the city, and in their local areas."

Iconic scenes from previous Socceroos World Cup runs will be no more, with Melbourne's Federation Square reportedly making the call to no longer show Australia's matches on its big screen during the upcoming FIFA World Cup. The venue's management cited previous incidents during the 2022 Men's and 2023 Women's World Cup where flares were lit and fans were injured during the events as a reason for the cancellation.

Textbook example of leftist strategy. 2020: activist Rachael McPhail convinces Australia Post to adopt “dual-naming”. 2024: says dual naming is a “stepping stone, or means to an end” that should be “phased out” because “it’s more acceptable to use the First Nations place name”.
