@TobiasRose @elonmusk There's plenty of research showing that status quo incentive structure promotes polarization and outrage. So why not change the incentive structure and introduce negative feedback so users can self-regulate.

@TobiasRose @elonmusk If you start with a different set of starting assumptions about how social media incentives work, these tradeoffs can go away.

Re-upping. Twitter is a very hard problem. Hope @elonmusk will talk to teams in the trenches researching it. Any social media content moderation is a series of painful tradeoffs between clearly "positive" values: Free Speech↔️Factual info Privacy↔️Safety Virality↔️Accuracy etc.

@ProfessorGeraci Initial results seem promising. Personally I like the idea of an alternative narrative to AI apocalypse and instead AI that helps us be better.

Finding a solution to the venomous usage of social media is a high priority.
