Would I support legislation that would make it easier for first-time home buyers to afford a house? First time home buyers need three things: 1) a down payment, 2) a budget, and 3) a right-sized property they can afford. I support reducing the national debt so that we stop the erosion of our currency and make it easier for new home buyers to save. I do not support expansion of federal programs that buoy banks so they can make riskier loans like the sub-prime mortgages that drove the 2008 financial crisis.
