I am a practicing Catholic. Have been all my life, waaaayyyy over half a century. But I’ve had it with these damn popes getting political!! I couldn’t stand Pope Francis. 😤 We catholics are taught to believe that the pope is divinely chosen. That he is infallible. But I’m sorry, this one and the last one are hardly infallible. 😒 I had hopes for Leo but I had also heard that he was a liberal early on. Already, I can see he’s no better than Francis. Please, stop making Catholics feel like we have to choose. Because I’ll choose Jesus always, but you are NOT Jesus!! I will NOT change my stance on my president! Someone please explain to me why they take the astronauts out of the ocean via helicopter instead of using the boats. It feels like the harness/helicopter situation is unneeded and more dangerous but I’m not an expert by any means.

If @MarkJCarney can attract the likes of very "Blue Tories" like Marilyn Gladu into the Liberal fold, then every Conservative MP is on the table. I must say, as an intimate observer of Canadian politics and someone who has closely watched dozens of party defections over 20+ years, I find the Gladu defection to be nothing short of stunning! Ms. Gladu is not a Red Tory; she's a conservative's Conservative and won her Sarnia-Lambton-Bkejwanong seat by nearly 12,000 votes a year ago in a very tough election for her former party. In the previous two elections in 2019 and 2021, Gladu won her seat by massive 15,000-16,000 vote margins with *the NDP placing second and the Liberal Party an extremely distant third* I hail from southwestern Ontario, and my Mom was born and raised in Gladu's riding; while it Sarnia-Lambton may have once been a bellwether riding, it has been the personification of "conservative country" for more than two decades now. That Gladu saw appeal in @MarkJCarney's leadership and the direction of the new Liberal government speaks volumes. If Carney can attract Conservative MPs like Gladu, no Conservative MP is safe! #cdnpoli

+13 "Crossing the floor" in Canadian politics is a practice as old as the Confederation itself. Since the inception of the House of Commons, more than 300 Parliament have changed their party affiliation, this is not new.

@_Corey85 This is actually what is happening in the U. S., the government is split by parties that are putting their party ahead of what the country needs. The Republicans have become sheep, following Trump on things he said he ran on that he would never do, but yet he is doing.

@cass0308 This system is a joke. I do not vote for the individual MPP, I vote for the party. Canada did not vote a Liberal majority but look at this faux bullshit that we now have. When the MPP I voted for chooses to cross the floor, what happens to my vote? This "democracy" is laughable.

@_Corey85 The thing is son , you vote for a person who is supposed to be your voice and if he sees or thinks the head of the party or his party itself is not living up to what he ran on for his/her constituents than he/she has to either become sheep or step up and stand up for her riding.

@PierrePoilievre It's called politics, backroom deals are made everyday and an MP is voted in as an individual not as a vote for that party. If an MP disagrees with it's party he/she does what he/she thinks is right for her constituents. This has been going on since the confederation began 1867

Mark Carney is seizing a costly Liberal majority that voters denied him, and doing so through backroom deals. In January, MP Gladu said that floor crossers should face voters in a byelection to give voters the final say. I could not agree more. She should do so. The people in her community voted for our Conservative vision of a Canada that is affordable, safe, and strong at home, not for the costly Liberal government she has now joined. She should honour her word and let voters decide.

Trump and those that stand by him are responsible for not only the price of gas going up but for the price of everything going up, around the world! Those that voted for him are responsible for seniors surviving on pensions losing money on savings on their RRSP's. Impeach Him
