This country is peak for showing why birth rates are down. Half the country has the mentality “nobody helped me so why should I help others” not realizing, helping your community and neighbors is what peaks everything else. Less crime, more help when needed, higher happiness, etc

Sometimes male anger at ‘women getting special treatment’ reminds me of a gorilla experiment. One gorilla gets a banana every hour. The females next to him get one every four hours. Then someone decides to be fairer and gives the females a banana every two hours instead. The original gorilla? He flips out. He's still getting his banana every hour, but it feels like a loss because his advantage shrank. That's how a lot of men react to basic fairness for women: not as justice, but as theft.

In November 2024, the Onion revealed its winning bid for Infowars, which was sued into bankruptcy (as was Jones) after the families of victims in the Sandy Hook mass shooting won a defamation suit judgment in 2022 against Jones, who had repeatedly lied and posited baseless conspiracy theories about the massacre. The Onion’s parent company, Global Tetrahedron, will pay $81,000 a month to license the infowars.com domain name and associated intellectual property. It’s come out as influecers, who have done a video explaining themselves, still have these AI tools saying the completely wrong info bc they use blogs and personal opinion pieces

What I find interesting about the Newsoms is that they both relentlessly promote liberal/left ideologies that are corrosive to family formation and undermine traditional values. However, at the same time, they've been in a heterosexual marriage for 20+ years and have 4 children together. By those measures, they are more "trad" in terms of their own lifestyle than most Americans are, even a lot of conservatives aren't married with 4 kids. So what that tells me is the Newsoms KNOW that the traditional family model is the best; that's why they chose it when they both could've chosen anything else. But as elites they still promote insidious ideologies that end up harming the ordinary people who listen to them. It's a perfect illustration of "luxury beliefs."
