I myself am an almost 40 year old Stem geek and gaming nerd, and no, most don't speak like quippy, annoying, and terminally online Reddit millennials. It doesn't help that ALL of his main protagonists are like this. If you like his prose, cool, I'm glad you got more out of it than I, but you also shouldn't be shocked that lots of people also won't enjoy it. Especially with how overdone this archetype is within current media.
