@johnrobbo Translation: I left my pond to go stagnant and now need to justify my lack of responsibility to a 5 year old 👀

@NoContextHumans Actually, it's worth looking into the history of the "pan handle"... Interesting how these map anomolies happen.

@jmrbnsn @user8363382 As an overweight guy I am kind of glad we don't see as much male body positivity. Personally, i benefit from being reminded (even if indirectly) that I have to fix it.

@daraobriain Assuming, of course, he was offered that new account prior to the fallout. If not, then regardless of whether they agree with his views or not, removing somebody's ability to bank should be condemned by all.

@daraobriain PEP status will always be included as part of any bank's risk strategy. The question is whether politics is the reason, or that Farage no longer fits the terms of a Coutts account (such as wealth). Given they've offered him a standard NatWest account, i suspect the latter.

I remember when I moved to London I couldn’t open an account at Lloyd’s in Crouch End because they didn’t accept the Irish passport as valid ID. I didn’t go on Newsnight to complain; I just went next door to Barclays. Nigel is such a drama Queen.

@footballwithave @Jack_at_joat @FlyeKitesJay @InternetH0F It's absolutely a benefit. NHS contributions come out as a %, so is relative to your earnings. But if I fall and break my leg, get a cancer diagnosis, or have a baby, i pay £0 at point of use. I don't need to budget or plan, even if i earn (therefore pay) zero.

@YeAreOghenes @Jack_at_joat @FlyeKitesJay @InternetH0F As numbers on paper, yes, but if I took the same job for the same company in the US i would basically double my salary (as a number). The cost of living is significantly lower in the UK outside of London.

@jmrbnsn I've inadvertently made my situation worse. Decided to get a separate phone for work stuff after all MFAs setup. Couldn't be arsed to switch them, so now i need both phones to access work stuff 😂

@voltronsworld @dabit3 Not necessarily. It could simply be that they will use a more balanced algorithm, if (if) the Twitter algorithm is intentionally designed to artificially promote certain views.

On Twitter you can (and will) be attacked for not covering every possible nuance in every statement you make, especially as your network expands. The algorithm even encourages it, so the worst of the worst people are amplified. I love the idea of more friendly social networks.

@yzoos @SkyNews You can't mention wages and ignore the lower cost of houses back then. The average house was 2.5x the average annual income in 1980... Now it's around 8.5x ... It was far far easier to afford a house in the 80s and 90s.

@SkyNews What is the rate now? 5%? That's nothing compared to the rates in the 80s and 90s when it was 15% and above, and the wages were lower, and people still managed to cope. People should stop buying homes that they haven't factored in mortgage rises.
