Do not sit down and shut up. You have important things to share. Be heard. Say hard things. Rumble. Fail. Cry in front of people. Do not stop questioning decisions or expressing your opinions. It is hard but valuable. You matter.

I go to the ocean to remember my insignificance. To see myself reflected in each grain of sand rolling beneath the waves; powerless and yet, I can break down mountains.

I was born in Iceland to a Minnesotan and an Ohioan, grew up in England, yet somehow I sound like a southerner? #MilitaryBrat

My favorite coding buddy is here today to do some pair programming with me. He's a cheap hire as he'll work for pets and treats (and free room & board along with healthcare).

Whatever the opposite of “hardcore” 10x rock star dev is, that’s what I want. cosycore, moving slowly, making things right, petting the dog, naps, staring out of the window pondering problems and drinking tea.

I do think those are skills I’d like to improve on though so if you have exercises or ideas on how to practice grit, let me know!

I’ve been reading a lot lately about “grit” and “mental toughness“ and the more I read the more I think, that really doesn’t sound like me. Maybe that’s okay; we need some people to be soft and squishy right?

Anyone else still have a habit of adding dot com to the end of URLs when the TLD differs? #olds

@petronbot Yes and it is an insulting and very misguided practice. IQ tests are notoriously biased as well and a poor indicator of “intelligence”.

Serious question: have you ever had to do an IQ test as part of a recruitment process?
