#ProfessionalCoach burnout? Look at their position description. No human could do it. Technical leadership, build a team, build a culture, do media, do reports, meet sponsors, manage staff, tactical leadership, physical development, mental skills, sports science, manage injured players, develop strategic plans, comply with the rules and laws of the game, work 7 days a week in full view of the public, fans, media....and win or lose your job. Coach burnout will not change just by teaching them mindfulness or telling them to play golf once a week. We need to change our expectations - starting with the what is required of coaches. Let coaches #coach - and hire people to do everything else not directly related to #coaching. Do you hire a dentist and ask them to work at reception, clean the floors and do the accounts? Do you hire a carpenter and ask them to mow the lawn on the way out? Let coaches coach and the burnout will be gone.
